Description

Seldom does any piece of Federal Legislation have the sweeping impact of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act/Healthcare Education and Reconciliation Act (PPACA/HCERA), commonly referred to as “Obamacare”.  Originally designed just to expand Medicaid and better regulate the Individual and Small Group marketplaces, the new authority provided in the Act to the HHS, Treasury, and Labor Departments, as well as the enforcement powers residing in the IRS, greatly expand the regulatory burden on all businesses in America, even the ones who do not offer health benefit coverage to their employees.  To date, some 22,000 pages of regulation have been promulgated and the task is nowhere near complete!

ABEN, in cooperation with your state independent insurance association is providing an important FREE update on the impact of the ACA on businesses presented by Michael Bertaut, MBA, CHC, PAHM, Healthcare Economist and Exchange Coordinator for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana.

Mr. Bertaut will share with you important questions and strategies emerging that will prove useful to business owners of all sizes—even “small” businesses that think they are immune from the Act.  In this 60-minute briefing, he will delineate the core of compliance with PPACA, that is, the Five Questions Business need to be able to answer definitively on an ongoing basis accurately and in a well-documented fashion to avoid running afoul of this regulatory minefield.
